KTL painting

The KTL coating, also known as E-coatis an anti-corrosion protection system based on cathodic electrodeposition of water-based epoxy paint.

It guarantees uniform coverage even in cavities and edges, fulfilling the highest automotive standards.

Thickness

Homogeneous layer with thicknesses between 12 and 38 μm (0.5 – 1.5 mil) according to specification.

Chemical Composition

Cationic epoxy formulation free of heavy metals, with low VOC content (0.6 lb/gal according to EPA 24 method).

Look: Smooth, uniform finish, standard black color.

Adherence: Great performance on steel, aluminum and zinc alloys.

Main Features

Chemical and mechanical resistance: High tolerance to oils, solvents, impacts and abrasion.

Compatibility: Ideal as a primer for liquid or powder paint.

Curing process

  • Temperature and time range:

177 to 200° metal temperature

20 to 45 min

We have certified data packs that ensure compliance with the required thermal profile, guaranteeing the correct adhesion and performance of the coating.

More than 1000 hours in a salt spray chamber.
